So here is my first bit of information.
Do not pay too much but do not pay too little for your mobility equipment.
What does that mean I hear you say, if I get the best price how can that be wrong?
Lets take a typical example of say a mobility scooter.
For some reason this product seems to attract charlatans more than other mobility equipment, so here are the facts!
You are generally best to buy from your local specialist dealer, not from the big boys who advertise on TV or in the national newspapers. Certainly not from someone who phones telling you that you have won some prize or other. Certainly beware if the sales person turns up with a pot plant and a cake and asks you to make the tea.
Here is an example from one of our customers.
Rep turns up, pot plant, cake ( he is diabetic so could not eat it, he gave it to me later-read on).
Shows him some lovely scooters all "specially produced for the XYZmatic Company"
After about 3 hours he gets round to the price for this top of the range scooter! it is just £6500 but after a bit of haggling, phone calls to the manager etc he can buy it today for just £5800!
Fortunately Bill firstly could not afford that and he knew us too, so eventually showed the rep the door. Then he phoned us.
So I went round and he showed me their glossy brochure. I showed him the P***E Mobility Company brochure with exactly the same scooter (except for a badge saying XYZmatic-so justifying the specially made story) and their RRP was under £4000 so immeadiately we saved him over £1800. However I recommended what in my opinion is a far more luxurious model that we could supply for £2500 which he loved and ordered.
TOTAL SAVING £2300 plus I ate the cake which proves you can have your cake and eat it too!!
Bill needed a stairlift too we supplied him that and saved him £500 as it cost him £1800 he still had £500 left earning interest in his savings account.
Watch this space as next I will show you how you can pay too little as well. By the way the scooter above was top of the range we can do new scooters from £595 and used models too.

What about the jokes you promised?
Oh well OK then, twist my arm.

The scheme manager at our local sheltered housing scheme was recently caught buying Viagra off the Internet. She was summoned in front of the area manager and admitted it was for one elderly gentleman resident.
"You really must not encourage such goings on " she was told.
"I'm really sorry" she said "but its the easiest way I have found to stop him rolling out of bed at night!"

    Don't say I didn't warn you
    Bye for now
    Alan
